Madhusudan Hore Mahavidyalaya is a post-higher secondary educational institution dedicated to the promotion of higher education for the student of rural area in Cooch Behar District, West Bengal. The college is situated about 2 kilometers away on the North-West of Nishiganj. The college was established in 2011 to promote education and awarness among the student in general and backward and schedule castes and tribes in particular. The college was named after the social reformer and educationist Mr. Madhusudan Hore who donated of the land for college. .
Our Vision
The vision of the college to carry forward the onward search and spread of knowledge for the upliftment of human being sepecially of Rajbansi Community and other backward classes through education. The flambeau in the logo of the college denotes progress, book denotes knowledge and stars denotes glowing development of students.

Madhusudan Hore Mahavidyalaya was established on the 5th day of August, 2011 after a long struggle of local people. Local people formed the Nishiganj Educational & Welfare Society in 2009 to put the demand for a Degree college at Nishiganj. The society with the help of the local people performed various activity like pursuing higher authority, fund collection, road blockage etc to establish this college. After a long struggle and fighting the society achieved success and got Govt. approval to established this college . Initially the college started with a few students at Nishiganj Nishimoyee High School with recruiting only some teaching and non-teaching staff. Mr. Binay Krishna Barman MLA, offered a grant to establish a building at first then the college was shifted to its own premises on 2nd January 2014. The foundation stone of the present college building at college ground was laid by respected Goutam Deb Hon’ble Minister of Department of North Bengal Development, Govt. of West Bengal on 02.11.2012.
We are grateful to Sri Binay Krishna Barman MIC, Deptt. of Forest. Sri Rabindra Nath Ghosh, Parliamentary Secretary Govt. of West Bengal whose active and sincere co-operation has made it possible for the college to get the present firm footing and network with a promising future lying in store for it. The sole aim of the college is to provide Enlighten through Knowledge assuring equal opportunity to all students.
